The US stock indexes ended Tuesday trading on a flat note

5th Apr 2011 - The US stock indexes ended Tuesday trading on a flat note amidst a mixed economic data by the Federal Reserve and the declining oil prices.

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 0.05 percent, or 6.13 points, to close at 12,393.90. The Standard & Poor's 500 index slipped 0.02 percent, or 0.24 points, to close at 1,332.63. The Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. composite index gained 0.07 percent, or 2 points, to close at 2,791.19. Among other major indices, the New York Stock Exchange composite index added 0.07 percent, or 5.98 points, to close at 8,488.39. The American Stock Exchange composite index closed at 2,443.50, up 1.29 percent or 31.22 points.
